Thermoforming

Thermoforming is an excellent, inexpensive process that allows our customers to expedite low volume products into the market without high tooling costs. Superior technicians and custom designed optical
thermo-forming equipment allow Criterion to provide quick-turn prototypes for most optical acrylic domes or complex geometric lenses.

We utilize CNC routers to trim fabricated parts allowing us to fabricate a wide variety of part designs. The parts can then be assembled in the same manner as our molded optical products. In addition to trimming our thermoformed products, our CNC routers can manufacture flat optical plastic windows and optical plastic panels for use in a variety of applications.

Our thermoformed domes can be made with clear or tinted acrylic material. They can also be finished with interior paint (see Secondary Operations / Painting) or metalized finish (see Secondary Operations /
Metallizing).
