Research, Development &
Engineering
Design and
process/product development are an intricate part of Criterion’s
business. We work closely with customers during the conceptual
stage of a product to ensure the optical enclosure they are
designing will meet or exceed their expectations. Camera
placement, wall thickness, material, etc. all play a vital role in
the quality of the optics used in a video surveillance
system. Criterion also offers custom optical mold and
part design.
The design software used
in engineering is SolidWorks which interfaces well with most design
software in the industry. Customers simply e-mail their solid
model designs, and our tooling engineers take it from there.
SolidWorks is also the software used to transfer tool designs to
Surfcam which is the CAD/CAM software used for our machinery in the
tool room. This type of programming is essential for precise
fabrication of tools made in house.
Custom Optical Grade Molding is
Criterion's specialty.
